WHAT IS SHABAZZ PALACES
I received an amazing package today in the mail. No return address, just 2 amazing cds with great packaging and a patch with each. The music is amazing with low end for your ass! I looked up Shabazz Palaces ,which was written on the spine of the cd, to find a beautiful storybook-esque beginning. Im excited to hear and see more in the land of Shabazz Palaces

So... I am curious. However, I am also a seasoned music buyer. Great packaging, a cool design, and smart moves (e.g. sending it cold to King Britt) are all fine and dandy, but you want $20.00 from me...you gotta give me a taste. If your product is good...then you have nothing to worry about people will buy it. But without a taste...I am flipping a coin, but that coin is $10-$20 bucks...
So what I am saying is...give me a sample people...
I agree with DJ Prof. I have no doubt the music is as evocative as the packagaing/marketing, but do know that listeners' tastes vary widely and I would know in an instant whether to flip that $20 coin or not. And if it wasn't for me, I would also instantly know which people I would forward the link to who would put it on their heavy rotation.
Cheering Shabazz Palaces on, I eagerly await a sample before clicking on download.

I feel like it is a bit refreshing to have an artist just drop it and let viral be viral. Get it to some cool people, let them talk about it and...
