Moving to Brooklyn was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Though it was hard to leave to the people and community of artists of Minneapolis that I love, a new chapter has begun to unravel and bloom as I have completely decided to live my dreams and surrender to my destiny.

Music has always been a huge part of my life, and without it, I would be a complete mess. It is my dream, my release, my reason for the season.. if you know what I mean. I feel like it has definitely been a challenge being a mother, a wifey, a lover, a waitress, a photographer, a writer, an emcee, a painter, a yogi and whatever else I can tack on to fill up space in cracks of this life. But with challenge comes growth.

Fall of 2008 refueled my flame when I dropped my first release (as a solo artist), HIDING BLIND, an EP produced by Dj Don Cuco. This leap of faith began the domino effect, landing us a spot on a Japanese compilation by Dj Moni, another dropping in Italy this summer, the Grand Prize winner of the Scion Vocalist Competition in NY, and HERE on FiveSixMedia.

I remember standing on stage in Philly, after performing at the Black Lily Festival 2007, holding back tears (arms linked with the amazing Imani Uzuri) while listening to Jill Scott singing "Golden".. thinking "Now THIS is the life". I haven't turned back since.
